Stephanie has served as a developmental editor for Wiley Publishing, collaborating for a decade on bestselling nonfiction books with authors from Google, Pixar, and Salesforce. She then moved to Sage Publishing, where she guides leading business authors to publication on topics such as leadership and marketing strategy. During her fifteen years as a freelance editor, she has edited and reviewed long- and short-form manuscripts on language arts, business and finance, health and wellness, memoir, narrative nonfiction, and YA fiction. Her projects include features for the University of Chicago, a public health book for Harcourt-Brace Publishing, a dissertation on the culture of surfing, and a fantasy novel about a fish.
She earned her MFA in Writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts and graduated with distinction from Pomona College. Her writing has appeared in Forbes Traveler, Investopedia.com, Transitions Abroad, the anthology Get Satisfied: How Twenty People Like You Found the Satisfaction of Enough, as well as the literary journals The Louisville Review, Under the Gum Tree, Guernica: A Magazine of Art and Politics, Appalachian Heritage, and Minerva Rising.
